Designer Alex Kurbatov

This Russian designer I found sparked my intrest in the way he uses simple shapes and textures while keeping the design low in complexity focusing on minimal black to tie the whole thing together.  If you go to http://www.behance.net/kurbatov/frame/875748, you will see an example of what I'm talking about.  Here you will see how he uses faint subliminal "blury like" coloring to to give life and movement to the design, then  using the boldness of black contrast to "pop" the initial image of focus giving it depth in a 2D fashion, while incorporating a 3D feel.
After viewing some of his graphig desings, illustrations and drawings, I've noticed that he keeps with a spacific theme per project, while incorporating his own style.
I have always been drawn to desingers that can successfully use the power of black without overpowering the overall design, another example to view is at http://www.kurbatov.net/.
In my opinion, his portraits are amazing!  Every "face like" image lacks distingtive features, but yet our eyes are powerfully drawn towards it causing emotion to what should be there.
Love this designer!
